Chicago Foundation for Women is proud to announce the honorees of CFW's 2012 Impact Awards—local leaders who have defended women's rights in the courtroom, the capitol and beyond. The awards will be presented on Thursday, March 15 at the beautiful Venue SIX10 at Spertus Institute.
"The 2012 Impact Awards honor the continued and historic importance of justice for women and girls' safety, health and security," says K. Sujata, President and CEO of Chicago Foundation for Women. "Since Chicago Foundation for Women's inception in 1985, we have sought to create a more safe, just and healthy world for women and girls—and these 10 awards recognize women and men who have been instrumental in that effort."
CFW's first Impact Awards honoree in 2005 was Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Since then, more than 40 visionary leaders advancing the well-being of women and girls in Chicago have been recognized. The 2012 awards were selected from among dozens of community nominations by a four-member volunteer committee: Paula Wolff ( chair ) , Nicholas J. Brunick, Andrea S. Kramer and Laura A. Tucker.
