Yolanda Castillo, 29, a mother of four, was shot in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood Sept. 7 while comforting a friend whose boyfriend had been shot earlier that day. Police said the killers were gang members shooting randomly in retaliation for an earlier attack.

Castillo, of the 4900 block of South Paulina, was engaged to Kathy Bass, the Tribune reported. They planned to marry in Vermont next year.

Police have charged two men with murder, and they are seeking a third suspect.
