Fred Heiber, the former manager at Temptations, died the morning of Dec. 31. He had worked for the Grivas family—owners of Temptations—for more than 15 years. Service was held last weekend.

The Advocate revealed last week that Herb Ritts had long battled with HIV before dying of pneumonia recently. As reported in last week’s Windy City Times, the celebrity photographer/videomaker was well known around the world. His pneumonia was reportedly not related to AIDS, but he did have a very compromised immune system.

Don H. LaCour, 39, passed away Dec. 29 due to complications from a brain aneurysm, in the presence of family and friends. Beloved son of Emma (the late John L.) LaCour. Cherished partner of Jeff Powers. Loving brother of Tina (Thomas Northrup) LaCour, Lorraine Cornett and Russell (Laverne) Derry. Loved nephew, uncle, cousin and friend of many. Will be missed by Charlie the Brittany Spaniel.

LaCour was the Chief Technologist of Imaging Radiology at Swedish Covenant Hospital. He previously worked for almost 20 years at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston as a Clinical Instructor in the School of Radiology.

Memorial service will be set soon for Broadway United Methodist Church, with a celebration at the Closet bar to follow. Donations to AmFar or American Heart Association. Arrangements by Cremation Society of Illinois, (773) 281-5058.
