After months of rumors, satellite radio network SIRIUS is making a major broadcast entertainment announcement this week.

Actor Harvey Fierstein helped kick off the announcement this week. The programming will be on 24/7 (sometimes repeating day shows during the nighttime).

While XM is a much larger satellite network, SIRIUS has been gaining some ground and hopes to use the GLBT network to increase their subscriber base—reportedly at 30,000 now (while XM just passed 500,000).

The New York Times reports that OutQ is replacing the Outdoor Life Network on Sirius’s 104-channel network, which is broadcast to subscribers for $12.95 a month.
