Saturday, May 24: Memorial Day Wreathlaying, 11 a.m. There will be many organizations present for this event which will be held this year at The Eternal Flame in Daley Plaza, Dearborn & Washington.
Saturday, May 24: City of Chicago’s 7th Annual Memorial Day Parade—Noon. Since the rebirth of the Parade GLBVA/AVER has always participated in the largest Memorial Day Parade in the country. Sunday, May 25: Wreathlaying Ceremony at Allen Schindler’s grave in Evergreen Hill Memorial Park, Steger, Ill. At 10 a.m. they will assemble at Allen Schindler’s grave in Steger, for a wreathlaying ceremony. Dorothy Hadjys-Holman, Allen’s mother, will be one of the speakers. (773) 752-0058.
AVER will try to provide vehicles leaving from in front of the Chicago Theatre at 9 a.m. This is the 11th year anniversary of Allen Schindler’s murder.
