Internationally renowned singer Michael Feinstein was in town last week for a benefit at the restaurant he recently opened with Chicagoans Terence Flannery, Jody Andre and Amy Matheny. He sang of some of his classics, with opening performances by Dylan Rice, Elaine Dame and Matheny. The event benefited About Face Youth Theatre and the Anti-Cruelty Society.

k.d. lang at Ravinia
The incomparable voice of k.d. lang wowed the jam-packed crowd at Ravinia last Saturday night. Under beautiful August skies, lang treated the audience to some of her classics from several genres, and her voice rang strong and solid throughout. Whether she was channeling Patsy Cline or Roy Orbison, she was a bea-charmer to the max in her suit and butch-styled haircut.
