Cara Thaxton, Victim Advocacy Coordinator for the Center on Halsted/Horizons Community Services, has been named ‘Court Advocate of the Year’ by the Domestic Violence Task Force of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. Thaxton, who has worked for the agency for one year, will receive the award at the Task Force’s annual luncheon Oct. 21 at the Shedd Aquarium.
