Ten years ago last week, Dr. Ron Sable passed away from complications due to AIDS. He ran twice for alderman of the 44th Ward, and was a civil-rights activist for many communities. He helped establish the Cook County Hospital AIDS unit, and was instrumental in local independent politics.
