Thirteen-year partners in life/partners in activism John Pennycuff and Robert Castillo announced their marriage. The two were wed in a public ceremony on March 5, 2004 in the rotunda at San Francisco’s City Hall. A reception was held at Ann Sather’s Restaurant upon the couple’s return to Chicago March 7. Castillo and Pennycuff would like to acknowledge the love and support they have received from family, friends, fellow activists and well wishers. The newlyweds encourage everyone interested in securing equal marriage rights to fight the proposed state and federal amendments that seek to define marriage as the ‘union of a man and a woman’ and threaten domestic-partner and civil-union laws across the country.
