The governing board of the Naval Academy Alumni Association voted unanimously for the second straight year to reject a bid from graduates who wanted to establish a predominantly gay and lesbian alumni chapter, according to Newsday. Following a recommendation by alumni association staff, the 27 trustees who attended the meeting voted to dismiss the group’s request on the basis that it would mainly serve a separate and exclusive group of graduates.
