The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) hosted a reception at the Hilton Chicago in February to announce its upcoming events for the year. Some of those are:
— Not Just Song & Dance: I’m So Excited: The 15th annual black-tie gala will feature a silent auction, raffle, and none other than The Pointer Sisters on May 7 at the Hilton.
— Dance Divas: On June 10 at the Fairmont Chicago, 200 N. Columbus, men of Chicago’s top dance troupes will pay tribute to the famous dancing ladies of stage, screen, and music.
— The Time Is Now: Confronting HIV/AIDS in the African-American Community: Phill Wilson of the Black AIDS Institute and a host of experts will discuss HIV/AIDS issues facing the Black community at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago, June 21.
— Dance for Life: Presented by Chicago Dancers United, the largest performance-based HIV/AIDS fundraiser in the Midwest happens Aug. 27 at Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand. — World of Chocolate: One of the city’s most decadent events will take place at the Fairmont Chicago on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1.
