Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) will honor four people who were critical in the passage of Senate Bill 3186, known as the gay-rights bill, through the Illinois legislature.

A gala dinner entitled ‘No Family Left Behind’ will laud the efforts of State Rep. Larry McKeon; Rick Garcia, political director of Equality Illinois; Art Johnston, Equality Illinois board member; and State Sen. Carol Ronen. The gathering is scheduled for April 29 at Kendall College, 900 N. North Branch, 6:30-11. In addition to dining, there will be a silent auction as well as entertainment provided by Miss Foozie.

John Cepek, national vice-president of PFLAG, stated in a release that the honorees ‘are modern-day incarnation of Abraham Lincoln. They’ve helped secure civil rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender citizens of Illinois.’

Tickets start at $150 per person. For more information, call (773) 472-3079.
