The state and national branches of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) have set up the Michael Lefkow Memorial Fund at Amalgamated Bank of Chicago. Lefkow, the husband of federal judge Joan Lefkow, was murdered at the couples’ Edgewater home Feb. 28. The judge’s mother, Donna Humphrey, was also killed.
Last week, police stated that DNA linked Albany Park resident Bart Ross to the murders.
A NELA release stated that the purpose of the fund is to carry out litigation and educational work in Michael’s name on behalf of victims of workplace unfairness as well as on behalf of government employees.
