‘Sex, Religion and Orality: Profits & Perils of Oral History’ will be the focus of the LGBT Religious Archives Network’s third anniversary dinner and program on Friday, May 6, at 7 p.m. at the McGiffert House, 5751 S. Woodlawn in Chicago. Dr. Doris Malkmus, archivist at LGBTRAN, will present an overview of LGBTRAN’s ground-breaking Oral History Project. Dr. Jennie Brier, assistant professor of History, Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago, will reflect on the pros and cons of using oral histories in historical research.
