The Spring 2005 edition of the Chicago Historical Society magazine Chicago History has an in-depth article by John D. Poling titled ‘Standing Up for Gay Rights.’ The article looks at how Mattachine Society played a critical role for gays fighting back against harassment and discrimination during the early gay-rights movement in Chicago.
History buffs should not miss this look back at GLBT history, including some great covers of old magazines, news clips, and photos of leaders.
