Servicemembers Legal Defense Network Executive Director Dixon Osburn was the special guest at a benefit reception hosted by SLDN Chicago board member Jean Alnright Sept. 23 at the Pritzker Military Library. An award was given to Ald. Tom Tunney, and guest speaker was Jeff Howe, a former U.S. Army Specialist recently discharged because he is gay.
Event co-hosts were the Chicago Chapter of the American Veterans for Equal Rights, the Chicago Commission on Human Relations Advisory Council on LGBT Issues, and the Midwest Regional Office of Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund.
