Good Shepherd Parish Metropolitan Community Church, the first church in Chicago with a special outreach to the LGBT community, has moved to a new location. The parish will hold its worship services in the second-floor chapel of Edgewater Presbyterian Church, 1020 W. Bryn Mawr. A special service of dedication will be held Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.

‘This should be a great move for Good Shepherd,’ Mary Brake, interim pastoral leader of the 40-member church, said in a statement. ‘It puts us back in the heart of Chicago’s gay community. The ‘leap of faith’ required for this move has already given us new energy and vision for ministry.’

For the time being, Good Shepherd Parish will keep its office and mailing address at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 7045 N. Western, Chicago, Ill., 60645. The telephone number, (773) 275-7776, remains the same.

The church has regular Sunday services at 4 p.m. every week. At 7 p.m. on the last Saturday of every month, there is a special ‘Saturday Night Pride’ service.
