John Leon Lowry passed away April 22. He was 55.
Lowry dedicated 34 years to educating thousands of students in the Chicago area. He was also a gifted musician who loved gardening and making people laugh. He will always be remembered for his infamous facial expressions.
Lowry is survived by his parents, the Reverend Andrew M. and Dorothy Lowry, as well as his brother Tom, sister Janice and extended family members.
There will be a celebration of Lowry’s life on May 20 at 11 a.m. at Fourth Presbyterian Church, 126 E. Chestnut, where he was a member.
