Auditions for dancers for the Gay Games VII opening and closing ceremonies will be held May 21. Dancers will perform under the direction of renowned choreographers Joel Hall, Kevin Iega Jeff, Michele Lynch and Michael Schwandt.
Locally, they will be held at Joel Hall Studios, 1511 W. Berwyn. From 10 a.m. to noon, trained dancers will audition. Urban/club dancers and novices will audition from noon-1 p.m., and 1-2 p.m., respectively.
Dancers should bring a resume and photo, if possible. Those chosen will rehearse July 12-14, with a mandatory rehearsal on the last day. Gay Games will provide costumes and feed dancers on rehearsal and performance days, but all other costs will be the dancers’ responsibilities.
