The recent 33rd Annual Jeff Citation Awards, honoring the best in local theater, belonged to Bailiwick.
The theater completed a three-peat by winning Best Musical for Kiss of the Spider Woman, which also won awards for director (Susan Finque), musical director (Robert Ollis), choreographer (Brenda Didier), lighting designer (Jared Moore) and principal actor in a musical or revue (Ryan Lanning and Stan Q. Wash)—totaling seven awards, more than any other production received. In addition, Michael Griggs and Mikhail Fiksel earned an additional award for their Sound Design for Angels in America, Part 1, which Bailiwick co-produced with The Hypocrites.
The awards honor excellence in non-Equity Chicago theater and they are non-competitive, meaning that there can be multiple recipients.
