Chris Giangreco, 29, recently finished his doctorate on welfare privatization and started a job in state public health. During the past three years, he served on the executive committee of the HIV Prevention Planning Group, helping the Chicago Department of Public Health determine prevention priorities for the city.

As a true humanitarian, he spends his free time volunteering for Loyola’s Community Literacy Center, teaching English. He also works on a great deal of pro bono projects for friends and colleagues throughout the city’s non profit sector.

Chris enjoys staying physically and intellectually active. He plays tennis and is an avid biker. He enjoys travel, and has many tales of adventure, from bus wrecks in the Peruvian jungle to getting lost in the Namibian desert. He also loves to read, and is an endless fountain of knowledge on current social and political events. If he is not riding his bike or playing with his dog, you can find him lounging at one of his favorite neighborhood pubs.

DID YOU KNOW? Chris is somewhat wary of technology; for example, he is very cautious of food cooked in the microwave.
