Nicole Perez is a U.S.-born Cuban lesbian raised in the Chicagoland area.
She is a full-time graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Studies Program at DePaul University with a focus in Women’s and Gender Studies as well as LGBTQ Studies. Nicole also currently coordinates the Office of LGBTQA Student Services at DePaul. As part of her senior project in her undergraduate degree at DePaul, Nicole wrote a proposal and led the effort to establish this office, which led to her receiving the Women’s and Gender Studies Outstanding Service Award in her graduating class.
In addition, she is also heavily involved in activism with organizations such Orgullo en Accion (co-chair), Amigas Latinas (member), Gay Liberation Network (organizer), Chicago Dyke March (organizer) and Howard Brown Health Center’s new LGBTQQ Mentoring Program (board member). Her passions include fighting for social, political, economic, racial, and sexual justice and equality.
