Stating that its ‘gay pride is just too large to celebrate only in June,’ the Independent Film Channel (IFC) announced that it will show several GLBT features in July.
Among its flagship showings is Fabulous! The Story of Queer Cinema, which will air Sun., July 16, at 9 p.m. CT. Fabulous! explores the evolution of gay and lesbian films from the beginning of the gay-rights movement in the 1960s to the ‘New Queer Cinema’ of the ’90s as well as the proliferation and influence of gay and lesbian film festivals.
Moreover, IFC will air a double feature every Sunday during July. Films that will be shown include Boys Don’t Cry, High Art and Velvet Goldmine.
