On Aug. 28, State Senator John Cullerton, D-Chicago, will be giving $100,000 to the Howard Brown Health Center, courtesy of a member project grant.
The money will be used namely to reconfigure Howard Brown’s lobby by centralizing its reception area, thereby increasing patient confidentiality and security. ‘We know he understands what a tremendous impact this will have on our community—enabling us to improve our space and to provide better patient intake and privacy,’ said Howard Brown CEO and President Michael Cook.
Cullerton will be presenting the check to Howard Brown on Aug. 28 at 9 a.m. at the center’s Uptown location at 4025 N. Sheridan. Members of the media are invited to attend.
After a 12-year stint serving in the Illinois House of Representatives, Cullerton was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1992, representing the state’s Sixth Legislative District. Cullerton chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee and sits on the Rules, Insurance & Pensions and Financial Institutions committees. At the start of the 94th General Assembly, he was asked to join the Senate leadership team as the assistant majority whip.
