The annual terpsichorean extravaganza known as Dance for Life will take place Aug. 26 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph. Five of Chicago’s top dance companies—Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Joffrey Ballet, River North Chicago Dance Company and Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago—will perform as part of the 15th anniversary of the event, which has a ‘Flight 15’ theme.

Dance for Life is the largest performance-based AIDS fund-raising event in the Midwest, having raised more than $2 million since 1992. Proceeds from the performance will benefit the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Bonaventure House, Luck Care Center, Interfaith House and the Dance for Life Fund.

Dean Richards, entertainment reporter and critic for WGN-TV and WGN Radio 720 AM, will host the event. Tickets range from $75-$500 and are available at 312-922-5812 or at www.danceforlifechicago.com.
