Jim Bennett Joins Lambda Legal
Lambda Legal has announced that Jim Bennett has joined its midwest regional office in Chicago and Judi O’Kelley has joined its southern regional office in Atlanta as regional directors.
Bennett possesses more than 15 years of not-for-profit management experience. Most recently, Bennett led the City of Chicago’s Katrina Relief Project, a project of Heartland Alliance that provided housing and resettlement support to more than 2,600 Katrina families who moved to the Chicago area. He has also worked in the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, Howard Brown Health Center and the American Red Cross in development, marketing and administration leadership positions. Among other things, he is a member of the award-winning GayCo Productions and was a co-host of Windy City Radio, which existed under the Windy City
O’Kelley, a member of the bar in Georgia, Alaska and the District of Columbia, also brings substantial experience to her new role, including leadership roles with Just Equal, an LGBT advocacy group in Athens, and the Jeannette Rankin Foundation, which provides scholarships to women age 35 and older. She also is a co-founder of Athens Pride.
