Governors State University is sponsoring a meth workshop headed by Rich Cannella, a 32-year veteran of law enforcement and longtime investigator, on Oct. 28, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Kankakee Education Center, 187 S. Schuyler Ave., Kankakee.
The workshop is designed to educate hotel/motel managers and personnel, apartment owners, building managers, utility personnel, building inspectors, homeowners, and law enforcement/fire department personnel in the dangers of these illegal operations.
‘These labs are not only dangerous for the products they produce like methamphetamines and other drugs, but for the materials used during manufacturing and the waste products created,’ Cannella explained in a statement. He added that the manufacturing process itself also creates danger.
The cost of this non-credit workshop is $50. Participants must pre-register. Call 800-GSU-8GSU, ext. 3987, or visit www.govst.edu/kec.
