In addition to noted WVON-AM host and civil-rights advocate Cliff Kelley, this year’s Matthew Shepard March for LGBT Freedom will feature Sam Kosha, a board member of the Persian Gay & Lesbian Organization (PGLO) from Toronto. The march will be on Oct. 7 at the corner of Halsted and Roscoe at 8 p.m. (NOTE: This event, sponsored by the Gay Liberation Network, is separate from the Center on Halsted vigil taking place on Oct. 16 at Roosevelt University.)
In addition to his address at the march, Kosha will be making remarks at a special fund-raising reception on Oct. 6 at Gerber/Hart Library, 1127 W. Granville, 7-9 p.m. The suggested donation is $10-$25. This event will feature remarks by Kosha, light refreshments and a presentation about the repression of LGBT people around the world.
