Center on Halsted will hold its first WOW gala to bring together lesbian, bisexual and transgender women in the community for a celebration of accomplishments. The event is Dec. 2 at Kendall College. Unique at this event, the 30 WOW women to be honored will be selected from the guests in attendance.
‘The WOW gala will be an annual fundraising event dedicated to celebrating the contributions of women in our community and nationally who’ve made a difference for others’ said Lisa Loudin, event co-chair and as partner of Robbin Burr, the Center’s Executive Director, the self proclaimed ‘First Lady’ of Center on Halsted.
Lesbian comic Vickie Shaw will be on hand as the evening’s entertainment where a live auction will feature an Olivia Cruise for two in a Deluxe Verandah on the Caribbean Escape trip, March 25-April 1. Go to www.centeronhalsted.org.
