Out pop star George Michael pocketed almost $3 million for performing at a Russian billionaire’s New Year’s Eve bash, making him the highest paid entertainer in Russian history, according to BGay.com. The unnamed businessman flew Michael and his 20-person entourage out to his private estate to entertain his 300 guests with an hour-long concert. Unfortunately, the singer lost a large quantity of music equipment in a fire that occurred at the estate, Life Style Extra reported.
In other George Michael news, the Careless Whisper singer will appear in a London court on Jan. 11 to faces charges of being unfit to drive, according to Undercover Music News. Michael had a succession of driving incidents over the past year, including a crash in April. He was officially charged with being unfit to drive on Dec. 21.
Key West, Fla.’s WGAY-TV—the country’s first free gay station—has announced its line-up of shows.
