Crossroads Fund is celebrating 25 years of supporting local grassroots groups working for social and economic justice with a gala on March 8 at 6:30 p.m. in GAR Hall at the Chicago Cultural Center, 77 E. Randolph.
The event features a dinner and dessert buffet; an open bar; live music by The Lucy Smith Quartet; the premiere of a 25th-anniversary video; and a silent auction. In addition, the fund will award this year’s Ron Sable Awards for Activism to the Chicago Women’s Health Center and the Lisa Fittko Internship Committee. Sable, who passed away in 1993, was a former Crossroads Fund board member; the first openly gay aldermanic candidate; and a doctor who treated and advocated for people with HIV/AIDS.
Tickets for this event are still available. Call 773-227-7676 or see www.crossroadsfund.org.
