Australian Open and Wimbledon champion Amelie Mauresmo is expected to be out of action through April after having her appendix taken out, CBS Sportsline reported.
Mauresmo had the operation in Paris on March 18 and left the hospital March 21. The fourth-ranked tennis player has been sidelined since losing the Dubai Open final to Justine Henin on Feb. 24.
