Buffalo Grove High School’s spring play, the AIDS-themed The Yellow Boat, was held April 19-21, according to PioneerLocal.com.
The play, written by David Saar, presents a young person’s view about the AIDS pandemic. The Yellow Boat is based on the true story of the playwright’s son, Benjamin, who was born with hemophilia, and died of AIDS-related complications in 1987 at the age of eight.
In addition, a section of the AIDS Quilt was on display in the school theater’s lobby.
