The rock group BETTY is returning to Chicago for a one-night-only concert extravaganza. The show, presented by Windy City Times, will benefit the new Center on Halsted, and will take place in its new auditorium, located at 3656 N. Halsted, on June 21 at 7 p.m.
BETTY has been harmonizing punk, pop and politics for two decades. They’ve recorded numerous CDs, launched their own musical tour and have been featured on the hit Showtime program The L Word.
Last summer, the band performed at the Gay Games Closing Ceremony in Wrigley Field.
Opening the show will be local Chicago rock band Stewed Tomatoes. Their music has been featured in a variety of television shows, and The Advocate profiled them as ‘women to watch out for.’
Tickets for the all-ages show are $25 each and can be purchased at WindyCityTimes.com or by calling 773-871-7610. Tickets are also available at Women & Children First Bookstore, 5233 N. Clark.
