Amigas Latinas—an organization for Latina LBQ women and sponsor of the 2007 Aixa Diaz Latina Youth Scholarships—will honor four Latina lesbian/bisexual student activists at its 2007 Pride & Scholarship Brunch.
The event will take place June 3 at Cafeteria de Pancho, 2200 N. California, 3-7 p.m.
This year’s recipients are two high school seniors and two college freshmen. They are being recognized for their efforts to fight homophobia in their school and/or promote LGBT issues.
This year’s scholarships and awards will be the last awarded in honor of Aixa Diaz, founding steering committee member of Amigas Latinas. The fund was established in 1999.
