Ride for AIDS Chicago Raises $100K

Ride for AIDS Chicago (RFAC)—a long-distance cycling event that benefits local HIV/AIDS organizations Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN) and Better Existence with HIV (BEHIV)—has netted $100,000 (not counting pledges yet to come). Moreover, all the proceeds go straight to the agencies, with no overhead being deducted.

More than 100 participants took part in the two-day, 180-mile event, which happened June 2-3. Opening ceremonies took place at Northwestern University. Riders then traveled to Conference Point Center in Williams Bay, Wis., where they spent the night. The following day, participants traveled back to the Northwestern University campus, where they were greeted by the Righteously Outrageous Twirling Corps (ROTC Chicago), among others.
