Among those who lobbied for their induction were Stephen Spielberg, George Lucas and Roger Ebert. AfterEllen.com reported that other celebrities honored this year include Angela Bassett, Cate Blanchett and Christina Aguilera.

Singer Clay Aiken has blamed his wandering foot for a dispute with a woman on a recent Continental Airlines flight, USA Today reported. The 2003 American Idol runner-up said that ‘ [w] hile sleeping on a plane over the weekend, my foot evidently found a home on the arm rest of the passenger seated directly in front of me. I didn’t realize I was causing the woman any distress until she woke me up with a quick hit to the chest.’ The incident garnered the attention of the FBI, but no charges were filed.

Nicole Richie’s DUI trial has been postponed until Aug. 16, according to the Associated Press; defense expert Dr. Terence McGree will be unavailable to appear until then. Richie was arrested Dec. 11 after witnesses said that her vehicle was traveling on a highway in Burbank.

Gay blogger Perez Hilton has made Stuff magazine’s list of ’30 Power Guys Under 30,’ according to MTV.com. Others on the list include football player Tom Brady, singer-actor Justin Timberlake and actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

Prince has angered many in the music industry by recently giving away his new CD, Planet Earth, away with the British tabloid The Mail, according to CNN.com. Industry executives view the giveaway as a major hit to a business that has seen declining sales over the years. Also being criticized is bookstore HMV, which sold the tabloid after criticizing Prince for the decision. (Moreover, HMV does not usually sell newspapers.)
