Fabby’s 5th Annual Stiletto Challenge has raised over $1,700 for the Imperial Windy City Court of the Prairie State Empire, Inc., NFP’s Reign Charities—with more pledges still coming in.
Each year Fabiola pledged to walk the entire distance of Chicago’s Gay Pride Parade—five miles—while wearing 4 1/2-inch stilettos. Pledges started at a minimum of one dollar per mile. The challenge began in 2002, during the Fabiola’s first reign as Baroness II of the Royal Imperial Sovereign Barony of the Windy City.
Fabiola (also known as Rene Van Hulle) passed away Feb. 27. In her stead, her three sisters—Christine, Laurie and Evelyn—along with H.I.M Emperor 1 David James, Archer, walked in her memory. Pledges were also raised by H.M.I.S. M. Emperor 3 Kevin Morris, who was unable to attend the parade due to illness.
