Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN) will mark two decades of helping the HIV/AIDS community with its ‘Aware Affair: 20 Years on the Edge’ celebration, set for Sat., Sept. 8, at the MCA Warehouse, 1747 W. Hubbard, 7 p.m.-12 a.m.
‘We’re very fortunate to have a number of talented individuals helping us celebrate this momentous occasion for TPAN,’ said TPAN Executive Director Rick Bejlovec in a statement. ‘The performers, artists, and community members who have come together to help produce this cutting-edge event, truly reflect our creativity, energy and dedication to our mission of providing education, support and empowerment to the HIV/AIDS community.’
The agency is encouraging attendees to ditch the black-tie attire (cocktail chic being preferred) and warning them to ‘expect the unexpected.’ The event will feature complimentary cocktails, a global dinner buffet, a silent auction, raffles for such prizes as a trip to Europe, entertainment by local performers and art by HIV/AIDS advocates on display.
Tickets are $100-$300, and may be purchased online from the TPAN Web site, www.tpan.com, or by calling Rhett Lindsay at 773-989-9400. Silent auction and raffle items are still being accepted, along with program book ads. Please contact Lindsay for more details.
