The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) held a kick-off party for its upcoming annual World of Chocolate-Sweet Dreams gala. The invite-only preview party was an opportunity for host committee members, awardees and vendors to meet. AFC Executive Director Mark Ishaug introduced this year’s seven awardees, who will each receive $5,000 micro-grants from the AFC. The micro-grants are given by the AFC to organizations that are located in Chicago but are doing international HIV/AIDS work. The Nov. 29 gala—which will take place at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan—will feature a celebrity-judged competition featuring a variety of chocolate creations by chocolatiers and restaurants. Photos and text by Emmanuel Garcia.
