A community gathering exploring issues of racism, homophobia, misogyny and HIV in the Black community will take place at the Center on Halsted.
Black Sexuality in the 21st Century will be presented by Sankofa Way Spiritual Services and A Church for Me. According to a Sankofa Way press release, the Nov. 10 event will feature a panel that includes Rev. Deborah Lake (Sankofa Way), Rick Garcia (Equality Illinois), Rev. Rowland Jide McCauly (House of Rainbow MCC), Dr. Terri Pease (counselor, author) and Laura Washington (DePaul University, journalist).
The event will take place at 3656 N. Halsted St. from 12:30-3 p.m. Tickets are $10 for those who pre-register, $15 at the door for adults and students and $13 for seniors over 65. See Change.sankofaway.org for more information.
