With 2008 being an important election year (and with this state’s residents voting Feb. 5 or before), political fundraisers and other activities are in full swing. On hand were local political figures such as Metropolitan Water Reclamation Commissioner Debra Shore and political activist Mike Bauer as well as judicial candidates Daniel Gillespie, Debra Kramer Marcus and Aaron Weiss.

On Tues., Jan. 8, Young Chicago Lakefront held a New Hampshire primary-viewing party at Red Ivy, 3525 N. Clark (left, Bennett Lawson and Aimee Pine, Judge Dan Gillespie and a supporter, Kevin Haus with guest, Justin DeJong and other guests). Meanwhile, Stonewall Democrats Illinois held another one at Halsted’s Bar & Grill, 3441 N. Halsted (Michael McHale, Rick Ingram, Greg ONeill and Mike Bauer; Aaron Weiss). The following night (last photos), congressional candidate Mark Pera held an LGBT fundraiser at Mix, 2843 N. Clark.
