The Milwaukee Art Museum ignites the senses with its exhibition, Sensory Overload (pictured).

________

Optical illusions and interactive aural installations are just some of the works of art awaiting visitors to the Milwaukee Art Museum, thanks to the exhibition Sensory Overload: Light, Motion, Sound and the Optical in Art Since 1945.

The exhibition, which opened Jan. 24 and runs through October 2009, showcases approximately 50 works in almost 15,000 square feet of gallery space. Presenting items chronologically, the installation begins with works by Bauhaus instructors Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and Josef Albers, and concludes with works such as Erwin Redl’s Matrix XV (2007), below, an LED installation with fiber optics.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $4 for students and free for children 12 and under; call 414-224-3842 or see www.mam.org. To become a museum member and receive year-round benefits, call 414-224-3284.
