Better Existence with HIV (BEHIV) welcomed over 300 guests to the Woman’s Club of Evanston, 1702 Chicago, on April 26 for its fifth annual Club BEHIV & Cabaret gala, which featured an ‘April in Paris’ theme. All monies raised benefit BEHIV’s programs for people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS. NBC-5 Chicago’s LeeAnn Trotter emceed a program where Michael McNamara and Kevin Putz were honored with the Director’s Award for their many years of support of BEHIV and Chicago area AIDS service organizations. Also, Rae Lewis-Thornton received the President’s Award for her 20-plus years of activism educating youth about the dangers of HIV.
