Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley recently joined a national campaign that aims to help curb the spread of the disease by encouraging people to get tested.

Daley joined the National Association of People with AIDS and OraSure Technologies’ Mayors Campaign Against HIV, along with roughly 70 other mayors from across the country. Participating mayors will help spread the message that getting tested for HIV is fast and easy by getting tested themselves.

The campaign coincides with National HIV Testing Day, which is June 27.
