The thunderstorms that rumbled through Chicago Aug. 4—downing trees and depriving people of power—hit the administrative office of HIV/ AIDS agency Chicago House, 1925 N. Clybourn, pretty hard.

The office suffered structural damage because of the storm. And, according to agency CEO the Rev. Stan Sloan, ‘it may take about a month to get the offices fully functional again.’

Sloan added that he hoped clients can be a little patient, stating that ‘voicemail and e-mail are working, but we may not be able to respond as quickly as we normally do.’ He has also seen

A bright spot regarding what happened: ‘Bonaventure House and Inspiration Corporation called to offer us temporary space. The silver lining in the clouds is how our partner agencies have offered to help us out in a time of need.’
