Gays marched or will march in three different areas of the United States this weekend to call attention to the fight against HIV/AIDS and to support same-sex marriage, according to 365Gay.com.
As part of Stand Against AIDS, people marched in Mississippi from Jackson to Oxford to urge the next U.S. president to make significant advances in the fight against the disease. The march began Sept. 13 and will end Tuesday, Sept. 23. State chapters of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the NAACP are among those that have endorsed Stand Against AIDS, which will culminate in eight caravans meeting in Oxford Sept. 23-26, according to TheBody.com.
On Sept. 14, people are slated to participate the fifth annual concurrent marches across San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge and New York City’s Brooklyn Bridge to support same-sex weddings, 365Gay.com also reported. Marriage Equality USA and Marriage Equality New York are sponsoring the events.
