After months of speculation, actress Lindsay Lohan finally confirmed that she is in a relationship with a woman.
Lohan, during a Sept. 23 radio call-in show, confirmed that she is in a romantic relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson. The couple called into the radio show Loveline, and during a conversation with DJ Ted Stryker, Lohan confirmed that she and Ronson have been together for ‘a very long time.’
For the past two years, the media has captured the couple, who sport matching tattoos and rings, attending events together, kissing, holding hands and more, causing many to speculate the nature of their relationship. However, neither Ronson nor Lohan would answer questions regarding their relationship until now.
Recently, both Lohan and Ronson posted a Myspace blog, urging fans to vote for presidential candidate Barack Obama because they both feel that Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is a ‘narrow-minded, media obsessed homophobe.’
Also, in a recent interview with Marie Claire, Lohan discussed what a positive influence Ronson has had on her life. She also mentioned that she will soon be purchasing a home with someone, but would not provide details.
Other stars have come out in support of the happy couple, even before they publicly came out. For example, actress Kirsten Dunst recently told Harper’s Bazaar, ‘I’m sure there are a lot of girls out there who are so much more comfortable because they love Mean Girls and Lindsay’s dating a girl.’
Lohan’s parents even hinted that the two were an item before Lohan publicly confirmed anything. Her father has been quoting as calling the nature of their relationship a ‘no-brainer,’ and her mother has expressed her support of the two.
