A jury found Gay Liberation Network (GLN) activist Andy Thayer not guilty on two felony counts of aggravated battery on a police officer for his role in a Jan. 7, 2008 anti-war protest against former President George W. Bush when he visited Chicago.

The decision was rendered the same day the trial took place: May 5, 2009.

The trial was at the Cook County Courthouse, 5600 Old Orchard, Skokie, and was expected to last through May 7, according to a GLN press release.
