Members of the semipro lacrosse team the Chicago Machine participated in a meet-and-greet with the media May 8 at the ESPN Zone, 43 E. Ohio. Players such as Brendan Cannon and Kevin Leveille liked the Machine’s chances in the six-team league (which includes teams from Denver; Boston; Toronto; Washington, D.C.; and Long Island, N.Y.). It should be noted that players in the Major Lacrosse League are intensely dedicated, with some living and working in other states—even during the season.
The Machine’s season starts Saturday, May 16, at the Denver Outlaws. The first home game is Saturday, May 30, at Toyota Park in Bridgeview against the Boston Cannons. See www.ChicagoMachine.com for more information. Text and photo by Andrew Davis
